Statement of Need

There were 37,777 new HIV diagnoses in 2018, with 21% occurring in adolescents and young adults age 12-24 and 22% occurring in adolescents age 11-19. HIV testing and the initiation of PrEP in HIV-negative, at-risk individuals is imperative for stemming the spread of HIV in this age group; however, PrEP remains underutilized in this population.

In this CME Outfitters webcast, expert faculty focus on the development of skills and strategies for opening the conversation with adolescents and young adults about sexual history and practices in order to improve the rate of HIV testing and PrEP initiation in these populations.

At the end of this CME/CE activity, participants should be able to:
