Statement of Need
The obesity epidemic has led to a need for educational and professional obesity initiatives, as the bias in western societies leads to weight teasing, particularly in adolescence, that predicts higher BMI and obesity later in life for those who were teased at younger ages. With the recent COVID-19 epidemic, obesity has led to disproportional complications, particularly among Black and Hispanic Americans. Therefore, it is more imperative than ever that clinicians overcome weight stigma when treating patients with obesity.
This CME Outfitters podcast will focus on recognizing the role of unconscious bias and stigma in managing underserved patients with obesity and how to partner with these patients to address barriers to adherence in order to improve obesity outcomes.

At the end of this CME/CE activity, participants should be able to:
%End>- Recognize the role of unconscious bias and stigma in the management of underserved patients with obesity.
- Partner with patients to address barriers to adherence to improve obesity outcomes.
Financial Support
Supported by an educational grant from Novo Nordisk Inc.
