Statement of Need

Despite the fact that Black/African American individuals are disproportionately at risk for HIV, PrEP continues to be underutilized in these populations. Optimizing and expanding the use of PrEP in these at-risk populations requires improved knowledge and prevention strategies, in order to improve rates of HIV testing and initiation of PrEP in at-risk individuals who are HIV negative.

This live webcast hosted by CME Outfitters will address racial disparities in the initiation of PrEP and the implementation of strategies to increase HIV testing and PrEP initiation.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this CME/CE activity, participants should be able to:

  • Address racial disparities in the initiation of PrEP among Black/African Americans by initiating two new strategies for HIV testing and prevention into your clinical workflow.

Financial Support

Supported by an educational grant from Gilead Sciences, Inc.

Target Audience

Physicians, PAs, nurse practitioners, nurses, and pharmacists
