Press ReleaseCME Outfitters Launches New "Expert Interview" Format In Effort To Improve Continuing Education Effectiveness CME Outfitters Expands Its Capabilities With the Introduction of the New "Expert Interview" Adult Learning Format …Improving Clinical Behavior—One Change at a Time POWELL, Ohio (May 11, 2012) – CME Outfitters (CMEO), a leading accredited provider in continuing medical education, announces the launch of a brand new learning format, the CME Outfitters Expert Interview. The Expert Interview format is an extension of CME Outfitters current live and web-based activities. At the conclusion of an educational event, audience-generated questions are collected; however, time constraints can leave many unanswered questions. The Expert Interview format provides a forum for curriculum-based education by extending the Q&A session into a CME-certified, stand-alone activity. The need for this new educational format was identified and established by the multitude of questions posed by activity participants, but left unanswered due to time constraints. Benefits include serialized approach to curriculum-based education, continued audience and faculty interactions, and self-directed learning by participants. With a faculty member from the foundational activity leading the interview, this enduring educational activity offers 0.5 total credit hours. Expert Interviews are posted on http://www.cmeoutfitters.com or neuroscienceCME.com as appropriate for the activity’s content. CMEO also distributes the interview via CMEO SmartMobileTM, making this activity available to all mobile learners on Smartphones or other mobile devices. CME Outfitter’s inaugural launch of the Expert Interview format was distributed in January as a continuation of a CME Outfitters Live and On Demand activity, Optimizing Clinical Outcomes in Rheumatoid Arthritis: Strategies for Improving Adherence. To view the Expert Interview, visit the activity details page at http://www.cmeoutfitters.com/cmea.asp?ID=636. Learners are surveyed about their experience and data are gathered about the effectiveness of this new format and learners’ perceived attitudes about the format. For example, learners are asked, “Do you integrate evidence-based models, strategies, and objective measures to monitor adherence in your patients with RA as part of daily clinical practice? Please provide two brief examples of how you integrate these models into your practice in order to improve adherence.” “We are very excited about this new format. It allows us to extend the education, meet the needs of our learners and expand the reach of our activities. The format is quick, impactful and focused on improving patient care, one change at a time and this is our goal,” said Shari Tordoff, Managing Partner, CME Outfitters, LLC.
